Welcome to Jamilah Henna Creations! My name is Jamilah, and I am a henna
artist located in central Connecticut. I have a love of art and have found
a way to channel my creativity into this beautiful ancient tradition.
Henna is a natural dye derived from a plant. It is dried and sifted to make a fine powder. Henna artist then mix the henna with natural ingredients like lemon juice, tea or coffee, a little sugar, and then add essential oils to improve the stain. Some henna artists used pre-mixed henna that may include other ingredients to give it a longer shelf life or produce a darker stain. Some of these additional chemical ingredients can be harmful to the skin. I use only natural fresh ingredients to make my henna paste for the darkest stain possible. I never use "black henna" which is usually henna mixed with black hair dye. It can cause serious reactions and scarring in up to 15% of people that use it.
I am available for individual appointments, bridal henna, girls night out parties, festivals, fairs, corporate events, sweet sixteen parties and conferences.
